Raleigh, In partnership with an immigration attorney, a developer and an economist Kennedy Advisors has formed a team to launch a Foreign Investment Regional Center. FIRC's are an investment vehicle for foreign nationals to invest in U.S. based proposed real estate projects and in kind qualify for Visa's.

BioGas Corp completes second of two plants in Charlotte and Johnston, RI. Kennedy Advisors serves as site selectors and intermediary in negotiating incentives for this client.

TechShop, San Jose, a make a difference investment by Loren and Barbara Kennedy, now has nine facilities nationally open, one under construction and one in planning.

Internationally - Loren Kennedy's impact investment in TechShop is showing impressive traction. Recently, Arizona State University teamed up with TechShop to provide a facility for students to learn how to design and then develop new products in the same location, Ford motor Company teamed with TechShop to "get their engineers out of the building and thinking creatively", and BMW in Munich heard about Ford's initiative and set up a TechShop just outside their engineering center.

Durham - Loren Kennedy completes a lease in downtown Durham for CalStar Products. The lease at the former bank building at 105 S. Mangum was for the top two floors.

Raleigh - Loren Kennedy, as Chair of the Carolinas Counselors of Real Estate, along with Hugh Kelly, National Chair of CRE, conducted an event at the North Hills Hilton titled "the 24 Hour City". The panel, which included John Kane, President of Kane Realty and Mitch Silver, outgoing City Economic Development Director, discussed the compelling reasons that mixed use development such as North Hill are an important “smart growth” aspect for cities.

Cary - Loren Kennedy and John Lucas of Link Alliance join forces on their first transatlantic transaction. The firm, which asked to remain anonymous, is an established food corporation in Great Britain looking to establish a beachhead in the Carolinas.

Durham - Loren Kennedy was Guest Lecturer at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. He spoke about a variety of factors that should cause middle market companies to pay more attention to economic development incentives that they may qualify for.

Charlotte - Loren Kennedy appeared as a panelist on PBS television on Carolina Business Review. The topic involved economic development and Loren's perspectives include the importance of corporate leaders and public private partnerships. Raleigh - Kennedy Advisors has signed a strategic partnership with Link-Alliance, LLC, a consultancy aimed at U.K. companies setting up major new operations in the U.S. Link-Alliance helps reduce risks by bringing to bear experts in dealing with everything from cross-cultural issues to product transfers and permits/licenses.

New York and Houston - Kennedy Advisors signs new alliance agreements with Paradigm Partners and Verto Partners. Paradigm Partners is an international consultancy specializing in state and federal funding incentives, outside of the economic development incentives that Kennedy Advisors works on. Paridigm Partnersis an Inc. 500 Growth Firm. Verto Partners is a management consultancy with experience with premier firms such as Goldman Sachs Capital, GE Capital, JMI Equity and CS First Boston. They provide services ranging from strategy to M&A to Interim Senior Management.

Charlotte - Kennedy Advisors signs a strategic partnership agreement with Abundant Power in Charlotte. Under the terms of the agreement, KA will provide public finance and site selection services for Abundant Power’s portfolio of clients. Loren Kennedy, Founder and Principal of Kennedy Advisors says, “We are flattered by Abundant’s approaching us with this idea. It makes wonderful sense to align our companies in a way that equates to 1+1 = 3. We are equally delighted to initiate this partnership with an Abundant client based in Virginia.

Raleigh - Loren Kennedy spoke to the Raleigh Chapter of the National Funding Association. New York - Loren Kennedy was the featured speaker at The Capital Roundtable. He spoke on the subject of how medium sized companies and private equity firms are overlooking opportunities for government loans, grants and tax concessions.
