Especially adept at recognizing opportunities for businesses to capitalize during periods of rapid change, Dave creates compelling solutions to reduce clients’ operating and transactional costs. Prior Experience and Education - in Regional Management and National Business Development roles within GE Capital IT Solutions, Johnson Controls, Control Data Systems and several smaller businesses, Dave was primarily responsible for the solutioning, implementation and ongoing support of complex facility, IT outsourcing and related project services within client firms undergoing major change.
While maintaining client retention above 95% in the prior 10 years, he successfully crafted, negotiated and supervised delivery of service contracts exceeding $83 million, before joining The Staubach Company and then Kennedy Advisors. Leveraging this experience, Dave now assists clients throughout North Carolina with their space-related challenges.
Dave graduated from Hanover College in Indiana in 1977, and received his Masters in Psychology from The Ohio State University, where he taught for 3 years.
Community Support - A passionate woodworker, landscaper and remodeler, Dave initiated a Men’s Service Ministry supporting orphans and widows thru his church, and currently delivers broad services to improve the comfort and affordability for living single as a senior, with the goal of enabling them to remain safely and as long as possible in their own homes. Significant brokerage work is also provided to economically challenged associations and training organizations at greatly reduced or no cost.
Speaker and Writer Loren has spoken at a variety of educational and business forums including the Fuqua School of Business at The University of North Carolina, The PBS television affiliate in Charlotte, the Capital Roundtable at New York City’s Harvard Club, the featured speaker at a National Funding Association luncheon and the featured speaker at a National Association of Corporate Directors luncheon in Raleigh. He has also had articles published in the Association for Corporate Growth Newsletter and CFO Magazine.
Impact Investors - Loren and his wife Barbara have for the last twenty years sought to invest in companies that could make a difference. The current portfolio includes two remarkable companies. One is BioGas Corp, a company that recycles organic waste into compost and electricity. They have built and sold their first two plants in Charlotte and Rhode Island. The other is TechShop, Inc. a shop where you can come learn how to design something to a specification and then be taught how to use their equipment to build it.
TechShop, Inc., is an eight location and growing fully equipped shop and education center where members can come to learn how to design and build almost anything. A ninth location, in Brooklyn, is under construction. TechShop partners include Ford Motor Company the U.S. Veterans Affairs Administration, Arizona State University, BMW (in Munich) and LOWES Home Improvement.

Loren Kennedy is Past Chair the Carolinas Chapter of The Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) He currently serves on the National Board of the organization. During his last term as Carolinas Chapter Chair, the chapter was awarded “The Chairs Award” for innovation with the Creative Thinkers Awards. The CTA has honored the thinkers in America who have changed lives with real estate having a fundamental role. Past honorees have included David Murdock, CEO of Dole Foods and Kyle & Patti Petty of NASCAR fame.
